General Operations
The Inspections Department handles all comercial and residential inspections for the city.
Call (251) 605-1556 for an appointment to have an inspector come to the site.
The Inspections Office operating hours are from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through
Thursday and 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Friday. All building plans must be submitted prior to the issuance of a building permit for
the inspectors to review. All new builders to Citronelle should set up an appointment with the
Building Inspector, to go over the requirement for our city prior to beginning the building process.
All plans must be reviewed before a building permit will be issued.
The Building Department of the City of Citronelle is charged with the administration and enforcement
of the International Codes 2009 (Residential and Commercial Building, Plumbing, Mechanical, Gas and Fire),
the National Electrical Code (NEC) 2009 (and all city supplements), and the Citronelle Zoning Ordinance to
promote the public welfare and safety. The Codes generally provide that any requirement necessary for the
stability of a building or the safety of the occupants not otherwise provided for in the text of these Codes
shall be determined by the Building Official.
Before an Occupancy Certificate can be issued for utilities to be turned on, a complete list of
sub-contractors, their address, phone number and license number must be submitted to the Permitting
Clerk for verification. |
